As we celebrate the season of Advent, we prepare ourselves for the celebration of the birth of our Lord, Jesus Christ at Christmas. Advent is a time of hopeful waiting; a time when we answer the call of John the Baptist: “Prepare the way of the Lord, make straight his paths.” May our prayerful observance of this season of Advent draw us nearer to our loving and merciful God.
On December 8th, we begin a Jubilee Year of Mercy. This season of grace provides us with an opportunity to reflect upon God’s loving mercy in our lives, as well as an opportunity to grow in mercy and forgiveness toward others. God’s mercy is immeasurable, and we pray that our mercy will increase.
While the secular world is focusing on external gifts, may we remain focused on the true meaning of this season—the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ. May God bless you and those whom you love.
In Christ’s love,
Mrs. Katie Walsh
