Principals Message

Dear Friends,

As we prepare for the new school year, I extend a warm welcome to our many new families and a welcome back to returning families. As a Catholic school, our Catholic identity is at the core of who we are and what we do; we focus on the faith formation of the students. We pray and celebrate Mass together and serve those in need, both locally and through our school and parish’s on-going commitment to the people of Haiti.

St. Margaret Mary Catholic School continues to partner with school families in promoting strong Catholic values, virtues, morals, and character. The new school year provides our school community with an opportunity to grow in respect for and kindness toward one another, as well to grow in holiness. St. Margaret Mary Catholic School will follow the direction set by Pope Francis in the document: Rejoice and Be Glad: The Call to Holiness. In striving for holiness, we will focus the school year on the Beatitudes.

Planning is underway for another successful year of learning and growth in faith for the students of St. Margaret Mary Catholic School. With a continued emphasis on rigorous instruction and a growth mindset, we strive to differentiate instruction in order to promote success in learning for all students. A continued area of focus for the school year will be STREAM (Science, Technology, Religion, Art, and Math) learning for our students. In anticipation of this, we have purchased additional STEM and Science instructional resources to help bring learning to life.

St. Margaret Mary Catholic School strives to teach the whole child and to meet the unique needs of each learner. During the new school year, we will continue to differentiate classroom instruction, provide academic support, as well as enrichment. An additional program, providing enrichment for high academic ability students, will be implemented this school year in grades 3 and 4.

Technology enhancements continue with the purchase of a new laptop cart intermediate grade classes, additional computers for Jr. High, i-Pad sets for classrooms, STREAM resources for the Media Center / Makerspace area, and many more items. All resources are being readied for student use.

During the summer months, much work has taken place on the school campus. The school has been cleaned, polished, and painted; new flooring has been installed in the Kindergarten and First Grade classrooms. The exciting playground shade structure is being completed, and we anxiously look forward to playing in the cooler environment under the protective sails. Donations for this project are still being graciously accepted.

We are honored and blessed to serve the children of St. Margaret Mary Catholic School, partnering with parents in the education and faith formation of the children. Thank you for choosing Catholic education, for it is a gift that will last a lifetime! We pray that God will richly bless our school community during the coming school year. May this new school year be a time of growth in faith and knowledge for the students of St. Margaret Mary Catholic School.

In Christ’s love,
Mrs. Katie Walsh
