I write with sincere thanks to all who volunteered, participated, or attended Catholic Schools Week events. The week was filled with fun activities for the students, and it was a wonderful time for our community! Volunteers were everywhere throughout the week, and I thank them for giving selflessly of their time to be present for so many activities, from chilly field days to distributing free hot dog lunches, to welcoming grandparents, as well as welcoming possible new school families.
Thanks to the brave eighth grade parents who participated in the annual basketball game—it was such fun to watch parents and students playing against one another.
The Grandparents’ Day Mass was so meaningful, and I thank the third grade classes for their careful planning and preparation for Mass. Thank you to the choir, directed by Mrs. Cheryl Pelzer; thank you also to Mr. Mark Duvall for creating the beautiful slide show that was presented to the grandparents, as well as to parishioners at Masses last weekend.
Friday was such a very memorable day! Grandparents and special guests were warmly and joyfully welcomed by the students, and countless memories were created. Thank you to the grandparents and special guests who were able to join us. I greatly enjoyed visiting with you. If you were not able to attend, the Mass may be viewed at: https://stmargaretmary.org/grandparents-day-2018
We celebrate Catholic Schools Week because we are blessed to be part of a Catholic school community. We have so much for which to be thankful. As we look back upon the week, may we each take a moment to thank God for our many blessings, for one another, and for St. Margaret Mary Catholic School and Parish.
In Christ’s love,
Mrs. Katie Walsh
