As we continue through the month of December, St. Margaret Mary Catholic School is immersed in the season of Advent, in anticipation of Christmas. The annual Advent Concert will be a musical evening to remember with performances from all the elementary school classes, along with the school choirs and bands. During the annual Senior Citizen Advent Dinner, the eighth grade students serve and mingle, (dancing is always encouraged), with our senior parishioners. In religion classes, discussion focuses on preparation for the Savior’s arrival – from simple Advent calendars to solidarity in prayer, to how our actions speak to who we are. Students are caring for those in need by donating toys to the parish Christmas Store to be shared with local children.

Students in grades 3-8 are preparing for Advent by participating in the Sacrament of Penance and Reconciliation. This healing Sacrament helps us to ready ourselves for the joyful celebration of the birth of Jesus at Christmas.
Before we know it, the school community will be celebrating our last school Mass of 2014 and wishing everyone a safe and blessed Christmas break. May your family find peace in Advent and joy in the upcoming Christmas season.

With love in Christ,

Mrs. Katie Walsh
