We begin our Lenten journey on Ash Wednesday. For the forty days of Lent, we will focus on preparing our lives and our hearts for the Easter Triduum. The three main ways in which we prepare ourselves during Lent are prayer, fasting, and almsgiving.
Throughout Lent, we pray for a true conversion of our hearts. May each of us grow closer in our relationship to our merciful God during this Lenten season. Students in grades 3-8 will participate in school Lenten Penance Services. Additionally, the parish offers many opportunities for Confession during Lent.
To help us on our Lenten journey, we are blessed to have the opportunity to participate in the Stations of the Cross each Friday evening, (with the exception of March 22), at 7:00 p.m. in the church. The various ministries of the parish are taking turns leading the Stations of the Cross. Also, on April 16th, at 9:00 a.m., the seventh grade students will portray the Living Stations of the Cross for our community. All are invited to attend, and the service will also be live-streamed.
May God bless your family and our school and parish community as we journey through Lent, and may each of us draw nearer to our loving and merciful God.
God bless you,
Mrs. Katie Walsh
