Governor DeSantis has announced that Florida schools will remain closed for the remainder of this academic year. The Diocese of Orlando schools will follow this directive. We have planned for the possibility of this decision, and although this is not the optimal situation for anyone, the St. Margaret Mary Catholic School teachers have done a remarkable job in transitioning to distance learning, and they will continue to do this as we finish the school year. The teachers are diligently and thoughtfully planning for instruction with careful attention to meeting the learning needs of their students.
We will continue to update parents regarding any and all further developments in order to keep you informed. We are planning for year-end special events, particularly those involving our beloved eighth grade students.
This situation is unprecedented, and none of us could have ever predicted it. However, we are a strong and vibrant faith / school community. Together, with God’s help and guidance, we will continue to move forward, safeguarding the health and well-being of all. The faculty and staff of St. Margaret Mary Catholic School remains committed to providing the highest standard of Catholic education.
May God prosper the work of our hands as we continue with distance learning for his children.
God bless you,
Mrs. Katie Walsh
