Principal’s Message

Dear Friends,

As we begin the season of Advent, we prepare ourselves for the celebration of the birth of our Lord, Jesus Christ at Christmas. Advent is a time of hopeful waiting; a time when we answer the call to prepare ourselves: “Be vigilant at all times.” May our prayerful observance of this season of Advent draw us nearer to our loving and merciful God.

Throughout the Advent season, we are invited to avail of special opportunities to draw nearer to God. The school community will attend Advent Penance Services, seeking God’s merciful forgiveness. Advent wreaths will be blessed and used during classroom prayer. The Parish Penance Service will be celebrated on December 10th at 7:00 p.m.

The school community is generously participating in the Parish Christmas Store, collecting toys for local needy children. St. Margaret Mary Catholic School eighth grade students, along adult volunteers, and first grade singers will warmly welcome and serve the seniors of our community at the annual Senior Citizen Advent Dinner.

While the secular world is focusing on external gifts, may we remain focused on the true meaning of this season—the birth of Jesus Christ. Hopefully, we await the celebration of the birth of Jesus at Christmas.

In Christ’s love,
Mrs. Katie Walsh
