Principal’s Message

Dear Friends,

October school days are eventful at St. Margaret Mary Catholic School! Much engaging, hands-on learning is taking place here on campus and through special field trips. Recently, Pre-K students visited the Winter Park Police / Fire Department, and intermediate grade and Jr. High students attended a special musical performance at the Bob Carr Theater where they enjoyed performances in three categories: Orchestra, Opera, and Dance. Both field trips, while very different in most aspects, provided an opportunity for learning to come alive for the students.

This month, students in grades 4-6 participated in Switch-it-up Tuesday. Students moved up a grade for part of the day, participating in myriad fun and engaging lessons and activities. The purpose of the day was to provide the students with a glimpse of what is to come. Everyone seemed to enjoy the change and the enriching lessons.

This month, St. Margaret Mary Parish and School honors our patroness, St. Margaret Mary Alacoque. On October 16th, her feast day, our parish community will participate in twenty-four hours of Eucharistic Adoration. Classes have been focusing on the meaning of Adoration and the importance of this devotion.

We hope to welcome many new families to our Fall Preview Open House on November 6th at 7:00 p.m. All are invited to learn about St. Margaret Mary Catholic School and the exciting and engaging learning that is taking place at each grade level, Pre-K through 8th grade. Additionally, we welcome families to tour our school to meet the staff and students. Tours are available upon request.
We wish everyone a Happy Fall!

God bless you,
Mrs. Katie Walsh
