Intermediate (4-6)

Students are prepared for the intermediate grade levels, with a solid foundation formed during the primary years.  Classes are departmentalized–divided based on subject areas, Math/Science and English Language Arts/ Social Studies, and Religion. Students gain more responsibility as they switch classrooms. Organizational skills and study habits are encouraged in a caring environment. The scaffolded independence allows for students to grow, take risks, and become stronger academically. Students receive a strong reading curriculum from enhanced teachings of the Orton Gillingham method through certified teachers. Math concepts continue to build in a rigorous and collaborative environment. Social Studies and Science concepts are explored through various research, experiments, and STEM skills. Special Area teachers continue to develop creative thinking, knowledge, and teamwork in the intermediate grade levels. Students continue to learn about their Catholic morals and values with a daily curriculum component from their religion teacher.
