This weekend we celebrate the Sixth Sunday in Ordinary Time. In the gospel reading below, Jesus challenges the disciples and us to look at God’s law in a new way. Rather than adhering only to the letter of the law, we are called to live in covenant with God, a covenant built on right relationships that go beyond the letter of the law. We are also called to build right relationships with others by mercifully caring for them and by giving of ourselves. Our model for doing this is Jesus.
